About this event

Welina me ke aloha,

This year, the Hawaiian Civic Club of Honolulu (HCCH) celebrates the 102nd Anniversary of its founding by Prince Jonah Kūhiō Kalanianaʻole. The Holokū Ball is our signature event that has been ongoing since 1928. Chief among HCCH’s annual activities is the support of higher education for Native Hawaiians. Via this annual event, HCCH is able to provide post-secondary scholarships to Native Hawaiians seeking advancement in their educational goals. HCCH will be presenting the upcoming Holokū Ball in Honolulu at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Tapa Ballroom, on the evening of Saturday, September 19th, 2020.

Over the past ninety years, HCCH has awarded more than $1.2 Million Dollars in scholarships to more than 1,800 students of Hawaiian ancestry in pursuit of their educational goals, thus elevating the cultural identity and improving the economic welfare of Native Hawaiians. Today, HCCH continues to embody the vision of Prince Kūhiō by building healthier communities throughout Hawaiʻi through this scholarship fund and many other civic and community outreach efforts.

The ongoing success of this Scholarship Fundraising event is due largely in part to the generosity of donors and community partners. We would be honored if your organization would consider a purchase of one of the Corporate Sponsorships as noted below. A portion of your purchase is tax deductible. The Hawaiian Civic Club of Honolulu (HCCH) was founded on December 7, 1918 by Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalanianaole. Club members strive to continue the mission and vision of the Prince by enhancing the lives of Native Hawaiians through participation with, and support of, various social and civic activities such as raising funds for Lunalilo Home, participating in Kawaiahaʻo and Mauna Ala services, and sharing the voices of Kaiolohiaomamala (the HCCH choir) with the Hawaiian community. HCCH also sponsors forums for community outreach, legislative efforts concerning Native Hawaiian issues, and supports fellow civic clubs and associations.

Chief among HCCH’s activities is the support of higher education for Native Hawaiians. Over the past five years, HCCH has awarded more than $150,000 to approximately 300 students in pursuit of educational goals in Hawaii and on the mainland.
